Raymond, from Shelter Dog to Demo Dog
- In August 2024, Jonathan adopted Raymond from Contra Costa County Animal Services. Originally named “Bochy,” this black pit bull with honey-colored eyes had been overlooked by most adopters, despite his friendly temperament with dogs and gentle nature with children. Jonathan saw what others missed: potential.
- Raymond is now Pack Leader Training’s demonstration dog. His calm, confident presence helps de-escalate tense situations and gives reactive dogs a controlled setting to practice appropriate social behavior.

In Loving Memory of Nakita
March 3, 2015 - July 28, 2026
- Jonathan adopted Nakita, a whippet/husky mix, from Milo Foundation in Richmond, CA in December 2017.
- Nakita came with real challenges: food aggression, leash reactivity, resource guarding, and a bite history. Through consistent, patient training and clear boundaries, she learned to manage them.
- She even helped demonstrate training for other clients’ dogs, and she became the living example of the philosophy Pack Leader Training was built on: that even the trickiest cases can become success stories.
- Living with Nakita gave Jonathan a firsthand understanding of the worry, the management, and the boundaries that come with a difficult dog.
- She traveled with Jonathan’s family far and wide, napped after every meal, and was right there beside him when he launched Pack Leader Training in April 2018.
- Jonathan said goodbye to Nakita in the summer of 2026, at 11 years old. She will be deeply missed, and forever loved.
